Deadline for application is May 15th.
The organizers of Azle Main Street Art Festival and Tour believe artwork—created at any age—should be celebrated, and because of this, up to 100 pieces of artwork created by children in grades K-6th living in the Azle ISD boundaries will be selected for a unique showcase display in the Azle Library Community Room during regular library hours. In addition to the special location, the Young Artists’ artwork will not be available for sale.
The objective of the Young Artist Showcase is to encourage and instill creativity and a love for art at a young age. We would love to display artwork from every Young Artist in our community, but due to space limitations, we must keep the number of pieces to the first 100 that qualify in accordance with the requirements and guidelines.
Submission Requirements and Guidelines for Young Artist’s artwork are as follows:
To qualify as a Young Artist, the artist must live within the Azle ISD boundaries, attend Azle Elementary, Cross Timbers Elementary, Eagle Heights Elementary, Hoover Elementary, Liberty Elementary, Silver Creek Elementary, Walnut Creek Elementary, Azle Christian School or be homeschooled, and be in K-6th grade
Young Artists may only submit one work for consideration
Entries must be original and created by the artist without an over abundance of assistance from a parent/guardian/teacher (we want to see their work)
Accepted 2D entries are limited to a 8″x10″ maximum in any dimension
3D entries must provide the weight of the piece
Any special installation of accepted 3D entries will be performed by the artist (or person appointed by the artist) at the time the artwork is delivered to the venue
Digital Images of entry image should not be more than 2MB
Submitted images of paintings, drawings, photography and other similar types of work should only show the artwork and should not include mats, frames, easels, or backgrounds of any kind if at all possible. Submitted images of sculptures, ceramics or other similar types of artwork may have a white or black background in the image.
